UnitedStreaming is a collection of educational videos, clip art, photography and teacher resources used to integrate Visual Literacy into the curriculum. Visual Literacy incorporates the ability to acquire images, analyze images, create image-based works, and communicate ideas and understandings.  One quick and easy integration of Visual Literacy into the classroom is to present an image and ask the students to respond to a question. This type of activity can be done at the start of the school day or as anticipatory set leading into a lesson.

For example, a teacher may post the following picture, downloaded from UnitedStreaming, and ask the students the following question: What does the following picture tell you about the season it may have been taken in? Why? Post your comments to this sample question.
